The U.S. Criminal Justice System was created to protect all American citizens. But to millions of minorities, it’s a racially biased cycle of injustice. To drive reform, we sought to expose the hypocrisy of the entire system and reignite a stalled national conversation. So we partnered with rapper and victim of injustice, Meek Mill, in a NY Times Op-Ed film that dismantled the entire Criminal Justice System using its own words.
Within hours the video was trending on Twitter and in less than a month, it earned over 660 million impressions, giving new momentum to the reform movement. Six weeks after the release, the most transformative reform bill in history, The First Step Act, was passed.
